One Pedal at a Time for the Unreached

I had the privilege of participating in Pedals for the Nations 2025, cycling from Gulu to Kampala via the Eastern route under the theme “Until All Have Heard.” This was the second edition of a cross-cultural missions awareness and fundraising campaign, and it was both physically demanding and spiritually enriching.
We were 4 cyclists — me, a missionary from Emmanuel International Uganda, and another friend. Another missionary joined us in Jinja. Our goal was to mobilize the Church in Uganda to participate in global missions and to raise awareness about reaching the unreached.
Our journey began with a worship and prayer evening at University Community Church in Gulu. About 35 believers gathered to pray for the nations and send us off.
The road was not easy. Each day for nearly eight hours. The heat was intense. The winds were strong. As we moved further East and toward Central Uganda, the hills became steeper. But with every pedal, I grew in my dependence on God.
We stopped in several towns to mobilize the Church:
- Lira, 200 students at Uganda Christian Institute Nursing School joined in worship and prayer.
- In Soroti, 46 pastors attended a Great Commission seminar.
- In Mbale, 55 believers gathered at Pearl Haven Christian Center.
- In Jinja, we shared during a Sunday service.
- In Kampala, 58 people joined a
thanksgiving worship evening at
Ebenezer Chapel.
In total, about 500 people participated in prayer gatherings across the cities.
One highlight for me was witnessing the unity of the Body of Christ. Many prayed for us. Many gave financially. Others encouraged us online. In Lira, the Lango Cyclists Club even escorted us partway, creating opportunities for fellowship and witness.
