Mobilizing The Church: My Burden For A Sending Nation

I have done frontier missions before, preaching and making Christ known, which I am still doing every time I get an opportunity. However, along the way, I began to notice something troubling.
Many believers were being discipled, but they were not mobilized to disciple others.
Even when I asked churches to pray or give toward missions, it was often difficult. Some did not fully understand the Great Commission. I felt like I was reaching those “outside” without effectively reaching those “inside” the Church.
Through prayer, I realized that mobilizing the Church was not optional — it was necessary. If the Church is mobilized, God will raise those who go, those who pray, and those who give.
I had the opportunity to engage in several mobilization efforts:
In Butabika, we held a Professionals in Mission Seminar where we studied the Biblical foundation of missions. Moving with a Kenyan team and hearing their experiences refreshed my spirit.
Every month of November each year is the
missions month at Ebenezer Chapel. In 2025, the sermons to mobilize the church were from the book of Philippians. We thank God for Grace Noowe and other preachers who were able to remind the church about the call of the great
commission and to see how they can be engaged in missions.
In Lachor, Gulu, we spent three days at St. Catherine Church teaching young people about missions. I was deeply moved by their hunger to understand God’s call.

understand this: if you have been
reached, you are responsible to reach
others.”
I believe Uganda can become a sending nation. But the Church must intentionally preach and emphasize missions. We have done well in many areas, building churches, teaching about marriage, business, and moral living, but missions must return to the center.
God has been faithful in my mobilization ministry. He has opened doors in churches and institutions. He has provided transport and resources where needed. And many believers are responding positively.
